4 Months Old

I just took this one this morning! My sleeping beauty!

I know i say it every month, but it is so true, " WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?" David and I are loving each and everyday of being parents to little Miss Katelyn, she is a precious child and wonderful baby. I am constantly thanking God for a happy, healthy child, we both feel so blessed.

Her latest things:

Sleeping 8-9 hours straight at night, sometimes more, sometimes less.

Naps 2-3 times a day from 1hr to 3 hrs, just depends on the day.

Wearing 6 months clothes.

I am still totally breastfeeding and she feeds 5-6 times a day.

She is chewing on everything she can get her hands on, but no teeth have appeared.

She can tilt to her side, but hasnt flipped over yet.

She has wonderful head control and on her tummy can raise her head 90 degrees.

I am guessing she is close to 16lbs and about 25 1/2 inches long ( we go back mid Oct to the doctor).

She is laughing hard now and talking all the time. She has also started making new sounds with her voice, some high pitched squeals, then a coughing voice, trying all different ranges.

Each stage of development is so much fun to watch.

Carousel Ride

Katelyn and I went and had lunch at Concord Mills with several of my friends from work and their kids. Inside the food court area is a carousel and the kids know after lunch they get to ride the carousel, well this time I got to go too since I have Katelyn now. I don't think she realized what she was doing, but she sure did enjoy all the lights and sounds! Thanks Sarah for taking the picture and thanks Claudia for the money to ride since I didnt have any cash, I still owe you by the way! ha ha

I am my father's child!

I took this picture the other day of Katelyn, she is getting so big! But her smile in this pic and the way she raised her eyebrows at me was totally like David! So I added the picture of David and her so you can see the resemblance.

80th Surprise Party

For the past several weeks David's mom, 4 brothers and sisters and all the grandkids have been planning a surprise birthday party for their mom and grandmother. To say the least it was a success and she was totally surprised, it helped too that her birthday isnt til Oct 13th, but this was the best weekend for everyone to attend. Here are some pictures from the party. We all had alot of fun and the grandchildren got pictures of the family before hand and Terri put it together and it turned out great, I am pretty sure I saw David's grandmother get choked up and she is not an emotional person at all! She was very touched. Here are some pictures!

Joann, Ama, and Lyn of course with Katelyn

Katelyn is Ama's 9th and youngest great grandchild for now.

Ama looking through her book of the family through the years.

Many of the grandchildren, but not all were able to attend, this isnt even half!

These are the grandchildren and the spouses and great grandchildren.

This is my grandmother and David's grandmother with Katelyn. David's mom's family and my mom's famiy have known each other for years, way before David and I even met! Small world!

Many of the family looking through Ama's book.

It was amazing to look through the book and see how everyone has grown up and to also know that all of us would not be here if it wasnt for Ama, so Happy 80th Birthday, we owe it all to you!

Triple Coupons!

I am trying to be really money conscious these days, so I can continue to stay home with Katelyn and David and I can still enjoy the lifestyle we like to live. So the above picture is everything i got from Harris Teeter (not all of it showed up to0 well) and I only spent 13.41 and saved 70.87 to be exact! So i got 84.28 dollars worth of groceries for only 13.41!!! Katelyn and I had fun telling David about this trip to the grocery store! Thanks to everyone out there for all your blogs about what to buy and what coupons to use, this was so much fun!

Train Ride with Grandpa!

Hope you arent getting tired of the train pictures, because we went again for a train ride, this time Grandpa and Ama joined us, even though Grandpa was the only one that rode. Ama and I sat back and watched and took pictures. Grandpa has a small train set up at his house that you just watch that he and Connor play with and maybe one day Katelyn will get into this too with him, but for now she loves being outside and riding the big train.

Grandpa and her went around several times, then David got there after work and joined them for a few more times around! Thanks Ama and Grandpa for coming and keeping me and taking me to the train!!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Sorry i am a little late updating the blog from last weekend, but better late than never. Last weekend we saw the Buchanan's and watched Robert play baseball. I used to babysit for Robert and Regan since Regan was 2 or 3 and Robert was about 3 months old. I would travel at least once or twice a month up to Raleigh to keep them and stay the night with them since it was a 45 min drive. I had my own space up on the
3rd floor, it was great! The kids loved it, but i know i enjoyed it just as much as they did. I can only hope Katelyn is as easy going as these two kids were and grow up to be as great of kids as they are now. Regan is almost 15, which is so hard to believe and hopefully soon maybe she will be able to come keep Katelyn and stay the night as well!

Robert is a great baseball player and David took a few pis of him hitting and then of Cheryl, Me, Katelyn and Regan! Hope to see you guys again soon!

All we did in 36 hours!

On Wed morning Katelyn and I headed out to have lunch with Shannon and Wade, Erin and Drew and baby to be, and Natalie to celebrate our birthdays. I left early when Katelyn was napping, so we stopped off at Shannon's to feed and play with Wade until it was time to head to lunch. Wade is 5 months old and is a happy baby, so we had a little photo shoot with the kids.

Then it was time for Cheesecake Factory and of course, i never got a picture of us all there, but we had a great lunch and fun just catching up!
Then it was off to Wilson for the night. Katelyn was able to meet the Stone's for the first time and also get some hugs and kisses from her godmother, Hardy.

To say the least we were exhausted and Katelyn went to bed early that night, because she had to get a good night sleep because Connor was coming the next day!

Connor had a blast with Katelyn and Katelyn loved watching him play ball and run around. I got some cute pics of them together. Connor did a good job at holding Katelyn, but she is about as big as he is!

Then for lunch Meila, who was our flower girl, and her mom came over to meet Miss Katelyn. So in 36 hours we saw so many people, but it was so much fun to see everyone and let katelyn meet some of them for the first time.

We then headed home on Thurs afternoon and Katelyn slep the whole 3 hours home! It was a fun quick trip!

Train Ride

Living in a small town has many perks and one of them is a group of men who love trains and trains big enough to ride. These are their own trains and they have laid the track at the local Farmer's Market and it goes a good distance. This past weekend, they wanted to run their trains, so they set everything up and offered free train rides to all. They had 4 trains going, so Katelyn and David hopped aboard and went on their merry way, while I stayed back and took pictures. Katelyn seemed to enjoy it and she loved being outside. David said she did jump a couple of times when they pulled the whistle, but never cried, they are running them again tomorrow, so we may try it again!
