First Boat Ride!

Now that we live near the water, we are so excited to be able to go out on it, but we dont have a boat, so it is great to have friends with one! Corey and Maggie were nice enough to take us out on their boat and it was Katelyn's first time on a boat. She did great, even with having to wear a life jacket. She and Caleb had fun running around and eating snacks on it. They even had fun watching their daddy's tube and ski. Katelyn didnt want to get out in the water, maybe next time she will warm up to it more.

Katelyn all ready for her first boat ride!

Thanks so much to Maggie, Corey and Caleb! We had a blast!

2 year old checkup and stats

Katelyn went to her first appointment with our new doctor here in Wilson, she did pretty good with the actual assessment, but still does not like to be weighed or measured at all. I keep hoping this will get better.

Stats:

Height: 34 1/2 inches ( 75%)

Weight: 25lbs ( 50%)

Sayings:

" I want to go to beach!"

" Mommy, I stuck." ( is what she says for everything these days, she doesnt want to do.)

" Ahmpa, forgot me." ( Ahmpa came out and got summer out of the car first, not kate.)

" Lets dance sum sum" ( poor dog)

"Tankkkk you." ( she drags out the thank part, its really cute and she says it for everything)

"Daddy, upstairs at work?" ( since daddy works from home now)

" Kate, eat cake."

She really can now carry on full conversations, it amazes me everyday how much she understands and now how much she can communicate back.

She is full of energy and is starting to need time out times, which is so much fun. But it is a learning experience for us all. She also has had trouble with mommy separation, but i think alot of that is due to all the changes she has been through over the past few months and hopefully soon these complete melt downs and crying for mommy will get better.

She still loves fruit, corn on the cob, and yogurt. She is starting to get a little more picky about foods, but hopefully she will grow out of that.

She understands now that she is going to have a little sister and will point to my belly and take stuff to her sister's room.

She is still doing great in her big girl bed and the biggest thing of all, NO MORE PACI! She simply didnt ask for it one night and hasnt asked for it since, so they are all gone!

She is growing up way too fast for me, but we enjoy everyday with her, she makes us laugh all the time with her sayings and actions! I cant wait to see how great of a big sister she is going to be!

Joyner/Brown Beach Trip 2011

This past week we went down for several days to Ocean Isle to the Joyner/Brown annual beach trip. This is David's dad side of the family. There are about 50 of us in two houses. It is a tight squeeze, but good family times. This year Katelyn was more active of course and wanting to play with her cousins. The cousins enjoyed playing with her as well, especially Jesse and Isobel, who are 9 ( they are the closest in age to Katelyn), they were a huge help keeping Katelyn entertained and out of trouble.

Katelyn loved going out each day to the beach digging in the sand and this beach trip with the help of the twins, they got her out jumping waves and she had a blast! Here are lots of pics from out fun at the beach this year! Next year will be even more crazy with a 9 month old crawling around, but we are looking forward to it!

I love my life!

24 and 28 weeks along

Time is going by way way too fast. I will be 29 weeks tomorrow and baby girl will be here before we know it! We went back to the doctor this past week and had another ultrasound to make sure my fluid is staying up and baby girl is growing well. All was great! She looks and is measuring just like Katelyn, BIG! She is long and big, but has a small head ( my saving grace)! My fluid is still adequate, so we will have another one done in 4 weeks to make sure it stays up. I am trying my best to rest and drink lots of fluids to make sure i dont go on bed rest again. My iron was low again, just like with Katelyn, so i have been put back on iron pills. I have been more tired lately, but i just figured it goes a new house, chasing a 2 year old, and this hot hot weather! We did make sure to get the tech to check too to make sure it was a girl, and she is, so for everyone asking, we are still talking names, we had stopped for awhile to make sure it was a girl, since we knew we would have another ultrasound, so now that we know for sure, we are back discussing, and we will let everyone know before she comes!

Father's Day 2011

Father's Day was a filled day for us this year. We started by celebrating with David as Katelyn helped him open his presents. Then Ahma, Ahmpa, Gigi, Uncle Wes, Heather and us got together for a brunch to honor and remember all our dads.

Katelyn helping Daddy and then Ahmpa open their presents.

Then we headed to my aunt's house to celebrate with my dad's side of the family. Connor and Katelyn being all cute!

Then Katelyn had her first ice cream cone. She didnt know what to do with it at first. My aunt was giving it to her to hold, but Katelyn pointed to her tray thinking she could eat it like she always has with a cup. She soon learned though from watching Connor that you pick it up and eat it and she went to town and ate it all!

Family photo with Connor! haha, at least he looked at the camera, Katelyn sadly didnt, but oh well. Hope everyone had a great Father's Day!

After this we then headed down to Ocean Isle for the Joyner/Brown Beach trip! That post is still to come!

Our new house!

We closed on our new house on June 9th and we are so excited! Dad and David painted a couple of rooms ( they were bright pink), then on Friday the moving truck arrived with all our things. I couldn't have imagined moving without a moving company doing everything, especially with a 2 year old and being 7 months pregnant. We also could never have gotten settled without all the help from both our families, especially my dad, David's aunt and grandmother. They jumped right in and did whatever we needed and didn't mind me sitting in a chair and pointing to where things should go! Here are some pics of empty rooms and the painting that was done.

Katelyn helping unload the boxes with her toys! It was like Christmas all over again!

Helping Great Ahma out in the kitchen!

We still have a little ways to go, but i will take some pics of the finished rooms soon enough! All boxes have been unpacked, but lots of organizing and putting up pictures are left to do, but i am determined to get most of it done before baby girl gets here!

Fun in the Sun

The first weekend in June we headed down to the beach for some fun in the sun! Katelyn even said, " Ahmpa, I want to go beach!" She loves the beach! This trip, she wasn't as carried away with getting in the water, but she loves playing in the sand and simply being at the beach! Here are some pics of my bathing beauty at the beach!
Just getting warmed up.

Daddy digging her a hole to play in.

Hollywood!

Not sure where she learned this, but on her own, she laid out her towel and laid down on it like she was laying out! It was too cute!

This was the day Katelyn actually turned 2, so of course more celebration! Daddy started the day with flowers for her and mommy. Then Gigi always does a candle in muffins for you to blow out on your birthday, so katelyn had one too! Then everyone came over for a birthday dinner and cookie cake!
