15 Months

Big girl!

Thanks Great Godparents Jerry and Trudy for my ball! I love it!

Another month has passed and Katelyn is doing more and more. She understands so much more these days. You can ask her pretty much anything and she understands it and nods her head yes or no. The problem still comes when she wants something, you have to ask her a million questions until she nods her head yes, for that is what she wanted, which can get a little frustrating for both of us at times. Her words are improving, but her motor skills are what she has mastered, that girl can run outside now and she can climb! In this pics she has climbed into her toy chest.

You have to be careful too mentioning the word "outside", because she LOVES it,and that is an understatement. She thinks when the dog, Summer, goes outside, that she can too. She still doesnt understand either, that we dont go outside in the rain, the dog doesnt even like that! ha!
Please let me go out!

Helping Daddy cut the grass.

Doesnt it look like so much fun out there?

She has also started with a little bit of attitude and will scrunch up her face and give you the "eyes" or give this aweful looking scawl. She has started doing this now too when she meets strangers and i feel so bad for them, but mostly once she warms up to them, she will smile.

She loves to put on jewerly or anything that is like a bracelet.
Look at my bracelet!

She is into sorting everything. She loves taking her cheerios or raisins from one container to another and back again. It is really fun to watch her mind at work.

Some stats

Weight 21 lbs 7oz ( 25-50%)

Length 31 1/4 in ( 75%)

Still wearing 12-18 month clothing.

Size 3 diapers.

Sleeps usually 11 hours at night with a 2 - 3 hours nap.

Loves the dog and I mean loves Summer, poor dog gets smothered with hugs and kisses daily and Katelyn looks for her first everytime she wakes up!

Is doing really well using a fork and a spoon.

Knows where her nose, eyes, ears, and toes are, but has more fun pointing yours out!

It simply is amazing just how much more she understands these days, so we have to really start being careful what we say and do, because she is always watching!

Poor baby on the way home after her shots!

Bounce, Jump, Slide!

A good friends from Charlotte little girl had her 2nd birthday this past weekend, so we trekked our way there to help celebrate! The party had all the big blow up slides and jump jumps. Katelyn had gone on one before when she was 5 months at another bday party and then Grandpa and Ahma have a small jump jump someone gave them, but this was the first time for her remembering seeing the big ones and she got so excited right when we walked in. I think though she was more excited to see all the kids too! She and daddy went down the slides a couple of times, but she still had the most fun riding around in the little car they had with the birthday girl pushing her around!

Thats a long way up!

Birthday girl, Killy, and Katelyn!

Here is the slide David and Katelyn went down, but they were too fast for my camera!

Here they are at the end!

This was so much!

Bows!

Over the past two days, Katelyn has been willing to wear bows in her hair. Not sure why all of a sudden she will wear them, but i am enjoying it. She looks so cute and such a grown up little girl. Before when i would put them in, she would pull them right out and hand it back to me. I would try again and soon she would start getting so frustrated with it, it wasnt worth the effort, so i gave up for awhile. Not sure if everyone knows but i was a big tom boy growing up and wanted to be just like my big brothers,so that meant no bows, dresses, or dance. I was all sports and cleats! Here are a few pics i was able to snap, she is too fast these days. Hopefully this new chapter will continue and i will be able to get some more pictures with bows in her hair!

Fun Times!

Last week Katelyn and I went back to Wilson for a few days for Embre Adell's bday party and to visit some friends. The cousins had a blast and especially the birthday girl, who turned the big 5!

During the week one of my good friends from high school and college, Stefanie, and her little boy Miles were in town from Texas, so the kids got a chance to play together. It was great seeing them and catching up, but it is much harder to catch up as the moms when each kid wants to run in the opposite direction.

Stefanie, Me, Miles, and Katelyn. ( too bad the kids wanted to drink from their sippy cups, but you get the idea)

Connor, Miles, and Katelyn looking on watching the big boys.

Connor and Katelyn had some time to play and there is always playtime with Grandpa!
Go Grandpa GO!

Arent they just the cutest! Holding hands!

Maggie and Caleb came by for a visit too. The kids played outside again and had a blast with the cars, jump jump and there was a little swimming too! Thanks Maggie for lunch, it is always so good to catch up.

Caleb and Katelyn in the jump jump!

Caleb loved it!

Mommy's Little Helper

Katelyn has watched mommy clean the house for awhile now and now she wants to help! Yeah! So now cleaning sometimes can take double the time, but she is learning and enjoying it for now, so hopefully one day she really will be a great helper! But she is so cute trying to help me clean and gets all excited when i pull the swifter out, that is her favorite! I was able to snap a few pics while she swept our room and the bathroom!

Is this right?

Look what i can do!

I can even clean while holding my sippy cup!

Posing for the camera!

Are we done in here?

Joyner Beach Trip 2010

This past Saturday through Tuesday, we went to Ocean Isle Beach to hang out with David's dad's side of the family. There were 41 of us in two houses! To say the least it was a crazy fun time! Katelyn is by far the youngest, the next youngest is 7, but there are 9 kids, then lots of adults!

We had fun hanging out at the beach and the pool, but simply enjoying family time and catching up with the extended family. Most of the family we only see once a year at the beach. David's great aunt and her daughters are the ring leaders that get it all together and keep us all together and organized and they do a wonderful job.

We didnt take a lot of pictures but here are some of the fun Katelyn had with her cousins in the water pool that the ocean made.

Here is one with Cousin Jessie showing Katelyn about fashion! Arent they just the cutest!
