Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday this past week. It started off with the birth of Mary Kathryn and Yancey's little boy and ended decorating for Christmas with the upcoming birthday of Jesus. I just love this time of year! Katelyn had a great Thanksgiving visiting with family and showing off all her new tricks, like eating big girl food, turning over and sitting up, she is just growing up too quickly. She also got to hang out with her second cousin ( my cousin's child) Brileigh, and they had fun swapping toys. We also had fun hanging out with Uncle Wes and Heather and Grandma lyn( sorry i dont have any pics). We helped both grandparents get their Christmas trees, so Katelyn has become a pro at that. I didnt do the best at taking pictures on Thanksgiving, sorry about that, but here are some from the week!

Baby Food

Katelyn is almost 6 months old and the poor child has been watching all of us eat and salivating so much and then starting banging on her high chair, like saying "feed me, feed me." So i finally got out the sweet potatoes and green beans and Katelyn is one happy camper again. She liked the sweet potatoes some, but she loves green beans. We have also started giving her a few cheerios and letting them melt in her mouth, that way she feels like she is eating again during breakfast while we eat.

James Yancey Washington, Jr.

James Yancey Washington, Jr. was born on Nov 23rd at 1003pm to my best friend from high school, Mary Kathryn Hardy and her husband Yancey Washington. He was 8.1 lbs and 21 inches long. He was supposedly 3 weeks early, but i think he was right on time because of his size and he had some long fingernails and wrinkled skin on his feet, meaning he was ready to be born. Mary Kathryn had a hard labor, poor thing, but she got a great reward with a happy, healthy baby boy. Both mom and baby are still doing well at home. Cant wait to see him again. Congrats Hardy and Yancey!!
James was about 40 minutes old in this picture.

The rest of these pics were taken the next day.

Look at all that hair!!!

Daddy and Katelyn's Day Out!

Katelyn and Daddy went on their first excursion all by themselves and guess where he took her, if you guessed Richard Petty, you were correct! He took her up to Randleman, NC to see the Petty Museum and meet all the ladies that work up there. David's dad loved to go up there and look at all the new things they would add to the museum and also see the new diecast cars they have come out with, but also he enjoyed talking racing with these ladies that worked at the museum, so now David is keeping the tradition going and this time he took Katelyn to meet everyone. Of course, they loved it, because these ladies are all grandmothers and one i think is a great grandmother herself!

David said Katelyn did very well on the drive there and back and also at the museum. There were other people at the museum as well and she enjoyed watching everyone. Here is a picture of them in front of the Petty blue car with a big number 43!!!

Birthday Parties!

Katelyn was invited to her first birthday parties, one was this past weekend and the other was last night. This past weekend was Preston's 4th birthday at Monkey Joe's, which has all the blow up slides. I actually took Katelyn down one and she really liked it. Here are some pics below of us in Monkey Joe's "King" chair. The birthday boy was having a blast so we never got a picture with him.

The second birthday was Jovi's, which was her 3rd birthday and she had hers at Chuckie Cheese. We actually were able to get a picture with Preston rideing a horsey, but not with Jovi, as this time she was having too much fun! Katelyn also got to wear a Strawberry Shortcake hat and she never took it off and she met Chuckie Cheese, but i dont think she even really noticed.

Sitting Up!

Katelyn is now sitting up like a big girl! All she wants to do is either sit up or stand up with you holding her, she doesnt like lying down. She is also now rolling over from her stomach to her back, but can't quite make it over from her back to her stomach.

Special Order for Katelyn

This is Katelyn's new bookrack that Grandpa made just for her to fit just right in her room. I had seen something like this in potterybarn and asked dad if he thought he could make it instead of spending a fortune at potterybarn and I have to say his looks way better than potterybarn's. All her books fit perfectly in here too and the staining matches perfect with her other furniture. Thanks so much Grandpa, we love our new bookrack!!

Fun with Grandma Lyn

This week Grandma Lyn came up to keep Katelyn so I could work a few days. I am not sure who had more fun, grandma lyn, katelyn or summer for that matter. The three of them had to be locked up inside everyday because of all the rain and more rain that we had, but they were all always happy when I got home each day. Thanks so much Grandma Lyn( or Gigi or Nana) for taking the days off to come up and play!!

Here are some pics from their fun!

My toes are my favorite toys!

Daddy and Katelyn petting summer! She is such a good dog.

"Where did she go, I wasnt finished!"

My duck bath tub, that i can sit up in and play! Grandma Lyn also made it into a fun boat to ride in on the carpet!

Wolfpack Wins!

Katelyn went to her first football game with us this past Saturday with David's cousin and his wife. She enjoyed tailgating and watching Will and Alyson's puppy ( who is way too cute)! Then we got into the game right at kickoff and on the first play State intercepted it, which was great, but not for katelyn, because she got scared with all the noise and people hollering, and started to scream and cry. I got her calmed down some and of course in two plays, which again was great, State scored a touchdown and the place went crazy!

To say the least i wasn't going to make her stay, so I took her out to the outskirts of the stadium and walked her til she fell asleep and she took a short nap about 20 minutes and i watched the game on the jumbotron. After she woke up David held her and we gradually made our way back into the stadium and our seats and let her adjust to the noise slowly. After that she enjoyed the rest of the game with us at our seats and it was great because State won!!! Katelyn's first game and they win! She was all decked out in her State gear too and David even wore the Babyborn for the first time ( i am usually the one who uses it).

Look at them NOW

These are the pictures of Caleb and Katelyn, when Katelyn was almost a month and Caleb was 2 months. Caleb's mom is a childhood friend of mine. Now below are their pictures when Katelyn was almost 5 months and Caleb 6 months. They were amazed by each other and kept wanting to look at each other and not at the camera or the grandmothers who were trying to get their attentions! They are both happy, healthy babies! Hopefully we can get together soon again!

Happy Halloween!

Katelyn was a cute little strawberry and daddy was Farmer Brown! Katelyn enjoyed her first halloween and we went trick or treating earlier in the day and daddy, mommy, and grandma Lyn enjoyed eating her candy that she received!
