10 months Old

March was a tough month and sadly it just flew by. Now Easter is just around the corner! Katelyn is babbling up a storm with the same few words she has been saying, but she is getting more and more active and outgoing. She waves to everyone and i mean everyone and everything. She gets so excited to go to the grocery store or Target, because those hands never stop waving, people are everywhere for her! Most people wave back and smile at her, but you do get the few duds that could care less and i think she notices now for sure, becasue she starts to wave faster at them if they dont respond. It is really cute though!

Katelyn is crawling everywhere and getting into everything. Locks are on all cabinets and things are being put higher, and the pantry has become her new playground! She is also starting to test David and myself and enjoys throwing her sippy cup or food on the floor and seeing what we do. We are trying the word " NO," very firmly, but it is a lesson in progress.

She is wearing size 3 diapers still.

Clothes are 9-12 months. I need to start bringing out her spring clothes with this warm weather!

Still no teeth, the pediatrician said it may still be awhile.

She loves to eat, still nursing 4 times a day, but supplementing a couple of ounces of formula a day. She is picking up bits of turkey, bananas, cheese, bread, vegies(sometimes). Her favorite things are mac and cheese, yogurt and anything carbs! She also loves sweet potatoes and squash, she is starting to not eat her greens as well anymore.

She still sleeps 11-12 hours at night and two 1 hour and half naps.

She is pulling up on everything and almost runs while holding your hands. She has released from holding onto things a couple of times, so i think she will be walking before she has teeth or turns 1!

Here are some latest pics!

9 Month Check up

We finally made it to Katelyn's 9 month checkup, she will be 10 months in the next few days. She weighed 18.4lbs, so she only gained 4oz and now is in the 25-50th percentile coming from being off the charts at birth! ha! Her length was 28 1/2inches, which was in the 75th percentile and she has grown and inch and half since her 6 month check up! She is slimming down and losing some of the baby rolls. She is walking holding on to someone or something and getting into everything! i am sure she will be walking before she is 1.

Still no teeth and the dr didnt see any coming anytime soon, so we will just keep waiting!

Texas Size Fun!

This past week Katelyn and I flew to Texas to see my roommate from college and her family. It was Katelyn's first plane ride and she did wonderful! It helped alot too that on the way there and back we sat beside two very nice businessmen that had kids, so a few times when she got fussy or moved around alot it truely didnt seem to bother them. Katelyn did have fun looking out the window and waving at everyone in the airport. She has an outgoing personality already!

Once we landed, Jess and her two boys picked us up and that night was a birthday dinner for her husband at her parents place. They live in downtown Fort Worth on the 19th floor with an awesome view. Katelyn had so much fun looking out the windows. Here are some pics!

The next day we took the kids to the Fort Worth Children's Museum and it was crazy busy there because it was a rainy day and spring break in Texas ( that is why we went this week because Jess is a teacher). But we made the best of it and the kids still had a lot of fun.

Eli and Katelyn taking it easy.

Katelyn playing on the gym mat. I tried to ignore the fact of all the germs that could be down there because she was having so much fun!

Katelyn pulling up on the window frame trying to look in.

Eli and Katelyn pushing the buttons to make the bubbles appear. They were doing it all by themselves.

After a morning at the museum, we headed back to Jess' house for naps and just hang out time. Here is a pic of our setup to feed the kids.

The next day we ventured to the zoo. I love going to the zoo, it always amazes me to see how different and unique God made all his creatures.

Here is Eli and Katelyn in front of the girafee to prove that they were at the zoo!

Caleb, Eli, and Katelyn hanging out at the zoo!

Katelyn waving at the animals, she loves to wave!

Mommy and Katelyn!

Elephants!

After we left the zoo we headed to a great Mexican restuarant and Katelyn loved the food and so did I! We have good places here, but nothing to what Texas has!

Loving Mexican food! She couldnt shovel it in fast enough!

It was so nice to just hang out and catch up right where we left off. I keep telling Jess she needs to move back and she keeps wanting us to move out there, so for now we will just have to keep visiting each other twice a year at least. Thursday katelyn and I headed home. We havent been home in over 3 weeks, so as much as I needed and enjoyed a trip away, it was nice to know we were heading home too for awhile. Thanks to all the Vicks and Lewis for a great trip! Cant wait to come again!

So sad that it is time to go home. Waiting at the gate.

9 months old!

Oh where oh where has my little girl gone?? I had a friend from work have her baby the other day and seeing her little one in her arms, just made me really stop and wonder where the past 9 months had truely gone. Was Katelyn ever really that small(and i say small though Katelyn was 8.11, but my friend's little one was 8.14 and yes he still looked small compared to what katelyn looks like now).

Since February did not have 30 days in it, i figured today was when katelyn would be 9 months old! We go back to the doctor next week for her checkup, but i would guess she is 19lbs and 28 inches, but we will know for sure next week.

Katelyn is wearing 9-12 month clothing.

She wears size 3 diapers.

We are still nursing 4 times a day though sometimes I dont think i am making enough and now we are having to supplement some.

She loves to eat! She is eating 3 meals a day and loves her fruits and vegies and we just started yogurt. I am still making most of her foods, which is so easy and way cheaper!

She is crawling for sure now and getting around very well.

She can pull up pretty good and loves to walk holding onto your hands.

She can say mama, dada, bye, ball.

She waves bye,bye or says hey she does the same motion for both.

She is clapping and grinning all the time.

She is sleeping 12 hours at night and 2 naps a day usually.

She has just gotten over her first cold, which i am so glad is finally over and she is feeling better!

Here are some pics of her at 9 months!

Mommy and me

Reading my book, I love books now!

Just being me.

Sticking her tongue out now while reading a book. She can multitask already!

Playing with summer! She loves Summer!

Clapping her hands.

Sitting in her chair watching one of her Praise Baby Dvds, she loves these and has figured out a couple of times how to turn it on with the remote, it is very cute to watch her get all excited when it comes on!

Fun in the Sun!

Finally this past weekend we had a nice day to go outside! So we loaded up the family and went to the camp ground area near the race track to let Summer run. We took a blanket out there and let Katelyn play on the blanket and in the grass some too. She rode her riding toy some and she loved to watch Summer chase down the ball. It was a little windy, but it was so nice to see the sun for a day.

Katelyn's new goofy grin.

Summer, its over there!

Summer, its on, you verse me, I am ready!

Trying to ride my new toy, like a big girl!

Daddy, can you help me go?
