14 Months!

Well i missed the 13 month post, but oh well, time is just flying by and i have been a little lazy about posting things. It is summertime after all!

Well Katelyn is extremely mobile and is climbing everything. She loves to ride in her car outside and play on her playset. She has been in her big girl car seat since she was one and it has been a whole new world to her! She is starting to show more of her personality which is so cute to watch, but she is also starting to test things, and gets her feelings hurt when anyone tells her NO! She has learned to not like that word already! Her are some stats:

Weight- 20lbs
Length 31in

Wears mostly 12-18 month clothing.

Size 3 diapers.

Has 4 teeth through, with 2 top molars coming in. She loves to brush her teeth.

Her hair is getting longer, but she hates to wear bows or hats.

She says " momma and dadda" very clear, up, down, and ball. "This" and "that" have become her two favorite words lately. She understands just about everything you ask her or talk to her about, but she mostly still babbles up a storm and i cant make most of it out yet.

She has started to become somewhat of a picky eater, she doesnt like to have things twice in a row, except fruit or yogurt or sauage, she could eat these three things all the time!

She is sleeping for the most part 8-8, which is awesome and takes usually a 2 1/2 hour nap sometime mid day.

She loves to dance, which i am afraid i will be in trouble one day, because i dont know a thing about dancing, but she can also throw a ball and kick a soccer ball pretty good, so we keep working on that!

She has fallen in love with her shoes, she loves to wear them and now has grown to a size 4, though she can still wear a few size 3s.

She still loves to be outside or in water!

She still loves people and loves to wave and smile at people!

Part 2

Here is Part 2 of our vacation time! It rained part of the day on Sunday and most of the day on Monday, which was kinda sad because it was our last full day, but we still managed to have some fun. Here are some more beach fun pictures!

Night time fun! Each night there was some kind of entertainment and Lyn was very gracious to take Katelyn back each night and let the 4 of us hang out, listen to great music or watch some great shows! We also had some great meals and we tried to dress up each night.

As you can tell we had a great trip! OK lyn, we have thoroughly enjoyed Italy and Mexico, now which country is next!!! haha! Thanks again!

Playa del Carmen, Mexico ( Part 1)

Last Thursday, we went on a wonderful vacation to Playa del Carmen, Mexico with David's mom, brother, Wes, and his girlfriend, Heather. It was 6 days of white sand, swimming, lots of food, hot hot sun and a couple of times of rain, but that was nice and refreshing too! Katelyn did great on the whole trip, she slept for most of the way to Mexico and on the way back.

The first night there we took katelyn out to the beach after dinner and she was already throwing sand and loving it!

The first day was a gorgeous day and full of hot sun! Katelyn played in the sand and water, but her attention span doesn't last too long, so most days consisted of us starting on the beach, her napping, lunch, then the afternoon by the pool and sometimes a second nap, then a great dinner! Here are some pics from day 1!

Day 2 began with the 4 of us getting up early to catch a van to ride to Tulum to see the Mayan Ruins, then repelling, zip lining, and snorkeling in a cavern with an underground river, which was way way cold, but really neat to do!!!

I didnt get any pictures of the zip line or the cavern, but now i really wish i did. There was 3 parts to the zipline, so you got to go down 3 different lines all from a higher level each time you started, it was amazing scenery. We were like in the thick of the jungle and it took forever to get there. I am hoping Wes took some pictures and once i get them i will post more. But this was the end of Day 2 and i will post more later!

Summer Lovin!

Ok, well you are probably curious about my title for this blog. Yes, i do love the movie Grease and yes I do love the season of summer, though sometimes it has been way too hot, but this is about Katelyn's love of Summer!

And no for her, it is not the season, but our oldest girl ( the dog) Summer. Katelyn has now started following Summer everywhere and she is sweet to her too by always wanting to touch Summer. We are trying to get her to just pet or rub Summer, but sometimes it becomes a hit or a point at Summer's eye, or a pull on the tail. We are still working on this, but Summer has been such a great sport with Katelyn. Katelyn even loves Summer's bed, of course, she is the big sister and you want to do everything your big sis does right! It is really funny though to watch katelyn come in to the room and get the biggest grin on her face when she sees Summer, start running over to her and saying, " Hey there!" and as she gets closer to Summer, Summer gets up really fast and goes in the other direction and then Katelyn follows still just a smiling and giggling! Other times Summer just gives in and lets Katelyn love on all over her and give her hugs and kisses as these pics show that i took!

July 4th!

For July 4th we had a culd a sac cookout! It was so much fun! This is what freedom is all about! David got out his corn hole game and ladder ball for everyone to play. I think this was a big hit! One of our neighbors brought out their huge grill to help feed everyone, then everyone else brought covered dishes. We had chairs all out and tables and seriously had our own block party! After the fun and activities, they set off fireworks for over an hour! They were great!

For Katelyn though she was exhausted and didn't take a long nap early that day, so we got a few pics of her and soon Lyn had to take her back for bed. We got a few pics with her and the neighborhood girls. They were all decked out for the 4th! The child was so tired she slept through all the fireworks which were right in front of our house! Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!!!

July 4th Parade

We love our little town and they out did themselves with the July 4th Parade to kick off the weekend festivites. We have lived here now for 3 years, but this is the first year we have gone to the parade and i would have never guessed that so many people would come out, but the road was packed!!! Gigi, David, katelyn and I found a spot to watch everything. They close half of a major road down so all the floats and people can parade down main street! It lasted for an hour and a half. They had lots of music, bands, animals, and CANDY!!! I have never been to a parade with so much candy. Some people even passed out bottled water, which was great and ice pops for the kids, which Katelyn loved! Also Katelyn got stickers, beads, sunglasses, and more! At times i think she thought she was in the parade because she would start walking along and waving like everyone else.

My friend Sarah and her husband and two kids joined us and Preston was so sweet to go get Katelyn candy and toys that were being passed out. I think Preston had the most fun eating toostie rolls and petting the horses that came by. Ethan did great just watching all the action, he didnt like the loud noises too much though, but it was so much fun to watch the kids have a blast!
