First Bath at Home

Haley's umbilical cord fell off early after like 2 weeks of being born, so i still gave her sponge baths for another week until we gave her a real bath. She loves them! They don't last long because it is getting cooler in the house, but she kicks her feet and makes funny noises when getting a bath, but seems quite content!

Big Sister!

Katelyn has been a wonderful big sister! I was nervous at first wondering how she would be with Haley especially with all the changes the child has gone through in the past 3 months, but she has been incredible and so loving to Haley. We waited until the day we were leaving the hospital for her to come up to meet Haley, so she would leave with us and she wouldnt have to say goodbye to any of us. Thanks to the all the grandparents for getting her ready to see Haley, because she was so excited when she walked into the hospital room. She gave Haley her present and Haley gave her hers and Katelyn constantly was talking about Haley. I wish now we had video taped it because it was so sweet how she acted, but i was nervous to have it out in case we had complete melt down.

So after the girls exchanged presents, we were ready to leave and we all left as a family in one car, which went perfect. Most of the ride home, Katelyn kept saying," Hey, Haley!" or Mommy, its Haley! Since we have been home, she continues to be helpful and loving, of course there are times when she is a little rough, so she just needs reminding to be gentle, but she has not been jealous at all. We pray this continues. She has started to ask to hold her, but she only wants to hold her for a second then ready to pass her off. Here are some pics of Big Sister and Little Sister!

1 Week Old

Just wanted to write a little post to say how big Haley was at her 1 week check up. She went from 7.10lbs on Friday to 8.5lbs on Tues! She did a whole lot of eating over the weekend i guess. She still is all over the place on feedings times. I am hoping soon to be able to figure her out better, but that hasn't happened yet. Then when it comes to sleeping, she has had her days and nights mixed up and she does not like sleeping in the pack n play at night. She loves to be held and to snuggle with you. She is also not big on her paci, unlike Katelyn was. It is amazing the differences and similarities already between Katelyn and Haley. David and I are way more laid back with Haley and have a pretty good system already established that works for us, but of course there are some adjustments to be done too. Happy 1 week to Haley and here's to more sleep at night in the weeks to come!

First Day of School

Katelyn started preschool this year! Hard to believe its time for her to begin, but at the same time she is so ready! It is also a very nice break for me two days a week and its a great time for her. Sadly, though her first day of school was when we were in the hospital with Haley, but she had so much fun anyways. She constantly asks to go to school. So the following Monday was her first day with us, so we took some pictures of her with daddy. ( thanks Leslie, i borrowed your idea of taking a yearly picture on the first day of school with daddy to watch her grow up and daddy too, haha). I look forward to all she will learn this year and all the crafts she will make! She already has brought home some cute things!

D-Day!

So its delivery day! My kids just think i am a great incubator and dont want to come out on their own. So again i am being induced to get Miss Haley to enter into this world! It will be different this time with being at new hospital where i dont know all the staff, but so far i have a great L&D nurse and i do know my doctor well, so that is great comfort.

It is 1045 and i have my iv going, havent seen the dr yet, but have pitocin and antibiotics going.

I started this blog yesterday, so I will finish it today with the rest of the story! haha

At 2pm, I was 4cm and Dr. P broke my water and i got the epidural quickly! I learned with Katelyn not to wait too long for this, and again it worked wonderfully!

Around 5pm, i was 5-6cm, then by 630 i was 10cm and ready to go! It was just funny how this followed the exact same timeline as with Katelyn. But when we were ready to have a baby, Dr. P was in another delivery, so we waited until 715 when she was able to get to my room. I started pushing at 720pm and Miss Haley around at 730!

She is precious and has some features like Katelyn, but I think she looks different than Katelyn did. She is of course smaller and has much lighter colored hair. She loves to eat and is a great feeder already like her sister!

Welcome to the world Haley Grace! We love you and can't wait to see your personality come out!

Haley's Nursery!

When we moved into the new house, we decided to keep the same bedding and colors of purple and green since it was a different room. I am actually very glad we did, because i love those colors and purple is Katelyn's favorite color now, so she loves to say it and point out everything that is purple! I did though get new crib sheets and changing covers. Of course since it is a different house new curtains had to be purchased. David and my biggest addition was making our own painting for Katelyn's room. I am actually quite proud of us! We painted a canvas with her initials on it in purple and green and now that is what is above the crib. I think it looks great and so proud of us and it was actually pretty easy to do! So even though it is the same crib and bedding, i feel like it is a completely different room ( which i guess it is)!

Here are some pics!
