Beach fun and Easter!

We went down to the beach over Easter weekend and it was beautiful as always, a little cool at times, but still pretty. On Saturday we headed over to Morehead City and had lunch at the Sanitary, one of my favorites. Katelyn had fun looking out at the boats and watching the birds. The restuarant had been nicely renovated since last year. Outside the restuarant are the big fishing boats so Katelyn and Ahmpa posed for a few pics!

David and I enjoyed the beach a little too much on Sat. afternoon, because I was an idiot and didnt put sunscreen on either of us and we got FRIED! I mean probably one of the worst sunburns i have had in a long time. I couldnt believe i was so stupid, but it was a little cool, so we just wore normal clothes but stayed out for most of the afternoon and our poor arms, legs and chests, didnt like all the sun exposure! So to say the least we did not feel good when we woke up Sunday morning, which was Easter. We did give Katelyn her Easter basket and i think Summer enjoyed it as much as Katelyn.

Look Everybody!

Summer wants some too!

Playing with her new play dough!

Here are a few more pics from the time at the beach. Katelyn really enjoys tools and trying to fix things, so here she is turning her car over and getting Ahmpa's tools to fix it! Has this child already been exposed to enough Nascar or what? Her Grandpa Grady would be so proud!

Here are some pics from Katelyn on the beach! Daddy and Katelyn!

Katelyn talking away!

Trying to catch the sea gulls, but they are just too fast for her!

On the way back home from the beach, one tired little girl!

Then when we got back to our house, our sweet neighbor, Millie, had gotten Katelyn an Easter Basket as well with bubbles in it! Her favorite! Thanks Millie!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and Alluleiu HE IS RISEN!!!

Easter Egg Hunt # 2

Our second Easter Egg Hunt happened down at the beach and there were lots of kids! The lady in charge was very nice and let the 2s and under go first for a few minutes because they are much slower than the older ones who got all the eggs up in like 10 minutes flat! Katelyn had fun though, picking each one up very nicely and placing it in her basket. James, made it a little later with his parents and grandparents, so we had another mini hunt for him to find some eggs. The kids had fun though!

Planting a Garden!

Ahmpa and Katelyn have started a garden! Katelyn now loves okra, so that will be planted but i think in these pictures green pepper plants and a tomato ( just for you Gigi), were planted. Katelyn loved digging in the dirt. She actually had so much fun, she sent a decent amoutn of dirt flying by accident into Ahmpa's mouth, it was hilarious and poor dad had to go wash out his mouth from all the dirt Katelyn sent flying! But that didnt stop her, she helped water them after Ahmpa came back. I wish i got a picture of dad with dirt all over him, but i went and got the camera after that.

Easter Egg Hunt #1

A few days before Easter, two of my college nursing school friends and their kids came to my parents house for an Easter Egg Hunt and lunch. The kids range from 4 1/2 to 1 but they all played so well, of course Katelyn is the only girl, but I think she is starting to get used to that. It was a beautiful day outside, so the kids enjoyed playing outside for awhile, then we had lunch, then it was time for the hunt!

katelyn on the big girl swing!

I think she still enjoys the baby swing though and had a blast with Drew behind her.

Look at my big girl!

All 4 of them sitting still at the same time! Amazing!

Ready, Set, GO!

Are there anymore?

Wade and Katelyn on the hunt.

Wade trying to find out if Katelyn has more than him! He is so cute!

Still looking.

Well we got three of them to sit back down. Gray i think was having more fun playing!

Thanks girls, this was so much fun, cant wait to be closer to you guys and have more fun with the kids!

It's a Girl!

Yes it has been over a week since the ultrasound, so i hope you have heard by now we are having A LITTLE GIRL!!!! We are very excited, me especially, because with all the changes going on right now, having one thing consistant and already having all the clothes and other stuff already makes my life a little easier. I havent scanned in the ultrasound pics into the computer yet, but i will soon enough. Everything looked great, it did take a little while to get her to move so we could know what she was, but she finally cooperated. Heart beat was still in the 140s. She is measurings big in everything, but her head, thank goodness. This is just like Katelyn was. I will have another ultrasound around 28-32 weeks to make sure everything is still fine since at this time was when my fluid went low with Katelyn and i was placed on bedrest the rest of the pregnancy.

Also around 16 weeks the nausea/vomitting stopped, thank goodness! This was 6 weeks earlier than Katelyn. I also started feeling this little one move around 17 weeks and now she is even a little more active especially in the mornings and at night.

We had the ultrasound on April 15th, so that afternoon we headed back East to tell the parents. I was trying to think of a cute way to tell them what we were having. I had read about making cupcakes or a cake and the inside would be dyed pink or blue to reveal if it was a boy or a girl, but i was afraid that a bakery wouldnt have enough time to make one by the time we found out and it was to close. So i went with plan B. Since it is Easter time, there are pale pink and blue M&Ms out, so i went and bought a bag and some Easter eggs and depending upon what it was I filled them with that color M&Ms.

Here are mom and dad with their eggs, what will be inside?

Its PINK!

Lyn is dying to find out what is in her egg!

Another girl to the family! Ama and Gigi are so excited!

I feel really bad that David was always behind the camera, but he is excited too! We havent decided on names yet, it may take awhile, i want to find a house first!

Dress Up!

Katelyn has started playing dress up these days, but its not with clothes yet. It is with objects and shoes! She tries to put different things on her head and she loves wearing all our shoes and trying to walk around the house in them. Her newest thing is the put the cube top of her geometric shapes on the top of her head. This one night, she wouldnt take it off, so we played with it on:

Then added shoes to the outfit and played more!

Ate dinner with it on.

And eventually we put pjs on and headed to bed, but she finally gave it up to go to sleep, but she was so funny whering it and thought it was the coolest thing!

Surprise Packages

David's godparents are wonderful and every now and then a surprise package appears on our doorstep for Katelyn. This time was a stuffed curious George and a cute little bunny rabbit. To say the least they were a hit and have been drug around the house and had to go to bed with her last night. Thanks Jerry and Trudy, she loves all of her surprises!!

A week of Family, friends, donuts, and the king!

So guess what? I am behind again on blogging, go figure. These are the events that happened 2 weeks ago, but it was an eventful week to say the least. Since David's job is mainly back East, Katelyn and I try to go back with him when we can so he isnt gone for so long or he isnt trying to kill himself driving back and forth. Also we need to be back there looking at houses ourselves, so we went out twice that week looking at houses, but nothing spectacular. Either the lot was too small, but we liked the house, or we liked the lot and house, but not the neighborhood, so we are still looking. Our house now has shown 9 times in 2 weeks, but sadly no offers, though all the feedback has been positive. Please just keep praying a good offer will come in soon and the right house opens up for us at the right time. We fully know God is in control over all of this, so we are patiently waiting on His timing.

Katelyn had fun hanging out with Ahmpa and Ahma, Gigi, Grandmother and Granddaddy, cuz Connor and Aunt Jen, Uncle Wes and Aunt Heather. It was a full week of people! We were also able to get together with Maggie and Caleb and let the kids play together for awhile, before we headed out to our usually lunch of Cracker Barrel! Caleb and Katelyn are 3 weeks apart and now Maggie and I are both pregnant and these kids will be 2 weeks apart! We are all excited to watch these kids grow up together. On another note, Katelyn now loves fried OKRA, thanks to Ahmpa and she even asks the waitress for it and she eats it up! So Cracker Barrel is our new favorite place to eat!

We had alot of fun hanging out too with Uncle Wes and Aunt Heather, sadly again i didnt get any pictures of them with Katelyn. Uncle Wes though became Katelyn's favorite person when he went and bought donuts! Not just any donut, but a Wilson Donut Shop Donut with chocolate on top! To say the least Katelyn loved it, but i think loved the chocolate even more. Here are some pics!

Then on the way back home David sometimes likes to go by the Petty Museum right outside Asheboro and Katelyn just happened to wake up from in her nap just in time to go. So we pulled up and as we were getting out a man next to us said " Richard is in there!" So David at first thought the man couldnt be serious, but once we walked in, the ladies there told us he was there and sure enough sitting in a chair watching the race on tv was Richard Petty! Katelyn of course was acting shy and hiding her head in David's shoulder, but soon she eventually smiled at him. David and he talked for a little while about racing and about his dad and grandfather. It does amaze me how good of a memory Richard Petty has. David's dad and grandfather were loyal fans to him through the years and even after retirement, but still most famous people would not remember all of this, but he knew details David had even forgotten his dad would talk about. So it was a great experience and we were able to get a few pictures with him. Again katelyn started being shy, but she can say she met Richard Petty, her daddy's and grandpa Grady's idol!
