18 Months Old Today

18 months have flown by and they have been such a joy, I couldnt have asked for a more wonderful little girl. Yes, at times, she has her fits and can stetch my patience, but seeing that precious smile and hearing her laugh, nothing can beat that!

18 month stats:

We had our family photos done recently and they turned out really good, there are a couple of just Katelyn on this blog, but you will see more on Christmas cards and on later blogs after Christmas cards have been mailed out!

Wears 18-24 month clothing. Size 3 diapers.

Guessing she weighs around 23lbs, will find out on Thurs.

Sleeps 730 to 7 or 730. then takes 1 1/2 to 2 hr nap.

Loves playing with other kids, she gets so excited to see them.

Getting a little more picky about foods, but she still loves her yogurt!

She has mastered her fork and spoon!

Can stack blocks, loves to color with pens and crayons, climbs everything!

She can take off running in a gallop like way, it is way cute!

Talks a decent amount and i can make out about half of it. Her new words this past week were " touchdown" and " dead bug"!

Her hair can now fit in a pony tail ( a small one).

Still clingy to mommy, but once i am out of sight, she gets over it pretty quickly.

Is into Micky Mouse and Veggie Tales. She will now sit and watch a show for a little while.

She loves baby dolls now and playing in our cars, she thinks it is hilarious to be able to move all around inside the car and pretend to start it!

I am sure there is a ton more she is doing that i am leaving off, it is amazing how fast they grow up!

Coloring so pretty!

Look at me on top!

Cheesey grin, loving her baby doll!

Katelyn, you are our pride and joy and we thank God for you everyday! We love you!

Thanksgiving Round Up!

Ok, so sorry no blogs have been posted in awhile, not sure where the time goes, but these days it is called Katelyn! Seems like she is into everything these days, so it doesnt leave me much time to do other things.

This year for Thanksgiving we headed back to Lyn's house for Thanksgiving Day Lunch with 40 members of her family and this isnt even all of them! It was alot of fun to see everyone and have all the litte ones hang out with each other.

Fun with Daddy!

Great Grandmother and Katelyn

Yummy!

That night we headed to my dad's parents for dinner. Forgive us, because we never got the camera back out. I am hoping for Christmas to get a small camera to keep in my purse to get more pics easier, than bringing out the big one all the time! The best part of the meal here is the carrot cake!

Friday, David and i did some shopping and we got my parents tree and helped them decorate their house, then Sat was our final big meal with my brothers, their kids, my parents and my Great Aunt Luta. Dad fries a turkey, which was delicious as always and the cousins had a blast playing together. Sadly, we watched NC State lose, but Katelyn did learn to say "Touchdown", too bad the first time she said it was when Maryland scored, oh well, she did say it again when State scored!

Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Happy Birthday James!

Baby James turned 1 last week! His mom is my best friend from elementary school and Katelyn's godmother, so we headed up to Oxford to celebrate with his friends and family. The birthday boy had a blast eating his cake and ice cream and was covered in blue icing by the end of it! katelyn enjoyed her cupcake as well!

Preparing for Christmas!

Every year, since David and I have been married, we have done a photo Christmas card. This year will be no different, but hopefully it will be a first with Shutterfly thanks to their promotion of 50 free cards, http://bit.ly/sfly2010, this is the link for their promotion. They have lots of cards to choose from, especially their Christmas card selection. They have over 747 different selections of photo Christmas cards which makes it hard to make a decision. Here are some links below to their cards.

This is one of my favorite cards, so hopefully we will be able to use this one, but of course it will have a B in the middle! We are going to have family photos done this weekend, so cant wait to see how they turn out and put them on our Christmas card for all to enjoy!

I love the fact too that it says Merry Christmas! I get so tired of seeing and hearing Happy Holidays, when it is truely the celebration of Jesus' birth, so it should always be a Merry Christmas!

(In full disclosure: In exchange for this review, I received 50 free cards from Shutterfly)

Trick or Treat

Ok, sorry it is taking me forever to do posts these days, but I get to it eventually.
This was David's and I first year staying home for Halloween, we have always taken our anniversary trip during Halloween, because it is my least favorite occasion ( i do not count it as a holiday), but this year with Katelyn, we decided we would take our trip earlier and enjoy this with her and we certainly did! She was an NC State cheerleader this year and she absolutely loved the shoes the best because the had those squeakers in them! To say the least, everyone knew when she was coming!

She wasn't so sure at first what to do, but after a couple of our neighbors houses, getting into a sucker and really enjoying it, and lastly our next door neighbor let her have a free for all in her candy bucket, she was hooked!

We got some really cute pics with our neighbors, their kids, and of course just Katelyn having fun. I was working the next day anyways, so dad came up early to keep Katelyn and help us pass out candy so we could take Katelyn around the neighborhood. Thanks Grandpa!

David and i too did not know what a big deal this was for our neighborhood since we have never been here, but Halloween is huge! The how place was packed and our main street to come in had cars parked on both sides and people just walked in to each side street and culd a sac, it was a very busy night. Our first trick or treaters showed up at 545pm and i thought i had bought enough candy, but we had given out by 715 and soon it was time to put Katelyn down anyways, but it was a fun night!

Katelyn showing off her costume and bag!

Mommy, this bag is way too big!

Katelyn and our neighborhood super heroes!

Our neighbors, who let Katelyn get whatever she want!

Grandpa, look what i got!

Our neighbor Millie, Katelyn and me.

One of the kids was an ostrich! We were all amazed and it had a battery that kept it blown up!

Our back door neighbor, Lillian! We love Miss Lillian!

Taylor, one of Katelyn's best friends! Katelyn knew exactly who she was, never scared for a minute.

A family photo, with Katelyn's face covered in sucker!

In Memory

This past weekend David's brother, Wes, came up for them to go to the Nascar Hall of Fame in honor of their dad who would have celebrated his 60th birthday on Nov 1st. David's dad passed away suddenly almost 3 years ago and he was one of the biggest Nascar fans, but most importantly the biggest Richard Petty fan. In honor of Grady, several of his closest friends and family, donated a brick in memory of him at the Nascar Hall of Fame, which is in downtown Charlotte, so David and Wes decided it was time to go see it and honor Grady's 60th birthday.

Katelyn and I went with David and Wes to the museum to find the brick and get pictures, but we didnt say to go through it, it took them over 3 hours to go through it and i knew Katelyn would never last that long. David and Wes had so much fun though and i know for them it was bittersweet, because Grady would have loved every minute of the museum but mostly sharing the memories with his boys. Happy 60th Birthday Grady! We miss you!

Here is Grady's brick!

Katelyn touching Grandpa Grady's brick, makes me cry everytime i see this picture!

David and Wes honoring their dad.

Family photo, one day she will know all about her Grandpa Grady.
