Nascar Hall of Fame

Groupon is this neat website where if a certain number of people purchase this coupon, then you get a big discount. Well there was one for the Nascar Hall of Fame, so I got one for David to be a member for a year for one low price. This means he can go as many times as he wants, plus he gets a discount on others coming with him. So the weekend of the 15th, we headed to the Nascar Hall of Fame. It was the first time Katelyn, lyn, or myself had been in. It really was very neat and a huge place. There are actually lots of interactive things for kids and adults to do.

This past weekend David and Katelyn went back again while i worked. David said she didnt run around as much as the first time but still had a good time. Here is a new pic with the M&M man!

Snow Day in Harrisburg

Yes i am way way way behind on blogging, but i seriously dont know where January went, it was just Christmas, now it is almost Valentine's Day! The next few blogs I will be catching up on what happened in Jan.

A couple of weeks ago was the snowstorm and ice for the Chralotte area. We got around 5 inches of snow on Monday and it was fluffy and fun to play in. It was too soft though to make a snowman. David was unable to make it in to work until Wed, so it was nice to have him home for a couple of days. Katelyn had more fun in 5 inches of snow than the 13 inches we had after Christmas because she could actually walk around and play in it! She went swinging and slid down the slide and simply just ran around chasing Summer in the yard. She had enough when she finally fell face first into the snow and was covered, she was ready to go in after that one!

The next few days the ice came and the snow wasnt as much fun anymore. By Wed, we were all about to go stir crazy, and finally by Thurs the ice had melted enough in the driveway for us to get out!!! It was so nice to finally get out!

Katelyn's House

For Christmas, Katelyn received her own little house! David set it up in our den so she can already play with it and when it gets warmer we will put it outside. To say she loves it, states it mildly. It has become a daily ritual, of her running in and out of the door, ringing the door bell, and talking on the telephone. She takes everything into her house. She also enjoys dumping everything inside her house like blocks, all her kitchen stuff and food. She has her snack in there and even likes having her diaper changed in there, she hasnt fallen asleep in there yet though.

Christmas with the Colliers!

The snow changed our plans some for the holidays, but we adjusted as best we could and celebrated with the Colliers a day later than expected, but it was still alot of fun! Sadly, Wes and Heather couldn't make it. The Colliers are David's godparents and Jerry was his dad's best friend. Jerry is a comedian and a prankster, so you never know what you are going to get or what he is going to get!

Jerry's on going joke with Lyn is to give her huge bags of M&Ms, well this year instead of bags of m&ms, she got an m&m phone, which we all got a good laugh out of it and Katelyn had fun playing with it!

More Snow!

That afternoon on the day after Christmas, we trekked over to Mary Kathryn's parents house to enjoy some fun in the snow with the kids. Yancey tried pulling James in the sled, but that didnt go to well and after falling over a few times, he was done. Katelyn walked around some and after watching James have no luck with the sled, she opted to play in the car with Ahmpa, so since the kids didnt last too long, it was then fun in the snow for the adults with building a snowman! Yancey wanted a tall, big snowman and i think we did a pretty good job. It took yancey, me and Mary Kathryn to build the bottom, then David did the middle and head. It was cold, and none of us had good gloves to be building a snowman, so with freezing cold hands, it was time for some hot chocolate inside and let the kids play indoors.

Getting back to my parents, my dad has been wanting to have a fire in his fireplace, so this year we finally did! It was great, snow, hot chocolate, and a warm fire! It was Katelyn's first time really seeing a fire, but she did great standing back and just pointing.
