NC Zoo

Well Katelyn is almost 11 months old and has now been to two zoos in two different states, she is on a roll. We met up with Shannon and Wade and her sister Ashley yesterday at the NC Zoo. I will say I haven't been to the NC zoo in years, so it was like a first time for me too. It was busy, but not crowded and the kids got to see all the animals. It really is a great zoo, very spread out, but the animals live in more of their own natural habitat. It did start getting hot though and pushing those strollers up hills was a work out!

The monkeys were probably the biggest hit because they came strolling along right in front of us, I tried taking some pics, but they didn't turn out too well. Katelyn is now a pro at pointing at things and she was pointing like crazy at all the people and animals. She and Wade enjoyed sharing all their snacks too, that is how we kept them going, so we didn't have to break for lunch because we knew if we did the next thing they would want would be a nap and that had to wait for the car ride home!

Thanks to Ashley too, don't know how we would have survived without her help. She was a great photographer and helper holding the kids, so we could load the strollers on the trams for riding between parks.

Ready to go see some animals!

Look mommy!

Hey, Flamingo's!

This was a monkey that was further away, the one that came up close was too fast for me to get a good picture and it was blurry.

" This is so much fun!"

All of us on the tram.

All of us together, too bad the kids aren't looking, oh well.

Spring Time is Here!

The Spring has arrived and Katelyn has loved it! The child loves to be outside all the time. She loves to ride in her wagon around the culd-a-sac or in the yard. Friday before Easter we went to Freedom Park with some friends from work and their kids and she loved swinging on the swings and simply seeing all the kids.

The Next Top Chef

For Christmas this past year, my parents added a kitchen to their house for the grandkids to play with. They all love it and Katelyn enjoys it just as much as the older ones though in a different way. She loves opening every cabinet and cleaning it out!! Then she chews on all the items and bangs with together. She also enjoys moving all the levers and pushing all the buttons. It wont be long til she will actually be able to use it for its real purpose, cooking!

Family Pics

Mom did a great job at taking pics for us down at the beach. We wanted some pictures of all of us in our Easter outfits at the beach. They turned out really well for the sun being in our eys ( because we did it in the morning instead of the evening ) and also near Katelyn's nap. David took some good pictures of mom and dad with Katelyn and i snapped a few candid shots. Thanks mom and dad for a wonderful Easter!!

Toes in the Sand Part 2

( Ok if you are just starting to look at the blog after the past few days, scroll down to Easter Egg Hunt and then work backwards to go in order, there is still more to come!)

Sunday afternoon we headed back out to the beach and let Katelyn play in the sand, this time i did put pants on her so she didnt tear her knees up. She still loved every minute of it even with the wind picking up. It was a nice relaxing Easter Sunday, but to not forget the true meaning of Easter, I want to say thank you Father for sending your Son! HE IS RISEN!! ALLELUIA!!

This is how the "princess" ate her meals, looking out onto the ocean!

Easter Sunday!

For Easter this year, I just got Katelyn some small things and books to put in her Easter basket. I didnt realize how much fun though she would have pulling things out of it and showing everyone. Even Summer came over and joined the fun.

"Summer, what can you find?"

Isn't there more!

Toes in the Sand Part One!

(Continue on after this one for the Easter egg hunt pics)

Ok, well these pictures are from Saturday afternoon, Katelyn's first time on the beach that she remembers and the first time that she is mobile. We weren't quite sure how she would like the beach, but after her toes hit the sand, she was loving it! She loved digging her toes in it, throwing it, eating it, digging in it, and splashing in the water with it. We all had to take turns holding her hands because she was everywhere, after awhile, we just let her crawl. It was so much fun to watch her enjoy the beach since both her parents and grandparents are beach bums! Enjoy the pics, there are alot!

"Bright sun out here, but i like it so far."

"Josie, look at this"

Hurry up, Grandpa!

Loving life!

Hurry, lets go in the water!

Giving mommy a kiss!

Smile girls!

Shells are great to dig in the sand. I am so smart!

Just loving it!

Three generations!

Family fun.

Hey everybody!

Yum, sand!

She was one dirty, sandy child, but she had the time of her life!
