5 Months Old

Katelyn turned 5 months old on Oct 30th, while David and I were on our anniversary trip. She is now around 17.5lbs and 26 inches long.

She is wearing 6-9, 9 month clothing.

Size 3 diapers.

She is eating 5-6 ounces, 5-6 times a day and still totally breastfed. I am still trying to hold off on cereal or foods til 6 months.

She can almost sit up by herself, but still isn't rolling over yet. She can't get those hips over!

She loves grabbing for things and everything she gets a hold of goes straight to the mouth. She also loves grabbing for her feet!!

She has really started to notice Summer ( the dog) and loves to watch her run around and play.

She also stayed away from mom and dad for two nights and loved staying with her grandparents ( both sets).

I am continuously amazed at how fast she has grown and changed in such a short time. I am also daily amazed at how life has changed for David and I and we are loving every minute of having her in our lives.

In the pictures below, Katelyn attended her first camping experience at the race track; she went to see everyone at Grandma Lyn's work; spent time with my great grandparents; she finally was able to meet her great godparents Sandra and Brian Lamm; she swung in a swing for the first time and loved it and many more pics!

Pumpkin Patch

Sorry i am so behind on posting pictures. I hope to have many posts to come over the next few days to catch up on things going on.

Here are the pictures of taking Katelyn to the pumpkin patch and of course the day we went was freezing cold. She loves the color orange and grabs at everything that is orange so she loves seeing pumpkins.

This pumpkin patch also had animals to see and a hayride, but since it was so cold, we opted to not go on the hayride and we will try again next year.

Best Husband Award!

I woke up on my birthday to find a sweet birthday card and a note saying my mom would be here at 11 and that we were to meet David for lunch in Huntersville. We had lunch and David stated for us to follow him and where we stopped was a spa!! I was so excited. But the best surprise was that he then said that mom was to join me and he would keep Katelyn for the afternoon, which he said he was getting the better end of the deal with keeping his daughter!

So mom and I enjoyed an afternoon of relaxation and pampering. We got massages, fire and ice manicures and pedicures! It was wonderful! Thanks hun, for being the best husband and giving me a great birthday!

4 Month Checkup

We went for Katelyn's 4 month checkup today and of course she is still way healthy!!!
She weighs a nice 17.5lbs ( off the charts) and is 25 1/2 inches long ( 90th%)!! I am still totally breastfeeding her and the Dr recommends i still not start her on cereal or foods until 6 months, because like he said, she doesnt need it, i am giving her plenty! So David enjoys the fact of saving more money for the time being!

I was also very impressed with our Drs office and hope all the others are doing the same. The well children stay in the waiting room and they have a nurse right at the door to ask if you child is sick and if so puts on mask right on them and sends them on back to a sick only waiting room, no where near the well children. Then the well children go to the same rooms and the sick children use the same rooms, never will a well child go into a room where a sick child has been. Also we used to wait for shots in a waiting room and all go to the same room, not anymore, the nurse comes to the room to do shots, so Katelyn never had to be around a sick child, thank goodness! The doctor did say they are seeing between 30 and 40 kids daily with the flu and are having to hospitalize about 2 or 3 a week and he is expecting that to be more soon. Kinda scary!

He is also highly recommending when Katelyn turns 6 months to get both flu shot and swine flu, seems like most kids who are getting the vaccinations are not getting sick and if they do theirs is a much much milder case. So I would recommend now everyone getting vaccinated and not spreading this junk around!!

Toes in the Sand

This past weekend we also took Katelyn back on the beach to put her toes in the sand and she loved it! She constantly wanted to stand and kick her feet in the sand and dig holes with her feet. She also enjoyed watching Summer run back and forth fetching the ball and swimming for it. I think this child is going to be a beach bum like her parents! We also took a chance with the great weather to do another photo shoot.

ARE WE DONE YET???

I'm the big sis!

Seafood Festival

The first weekend in October is always the Seafood Festival down in Morehead City with lots of good food and great music and this year it was great weather too! Katelyn did awesome and was such a trooper hanging out in her stroller most of the day while we went through the crowds. She is going to be just like her Grandpa and Daddy, who love to people watch. She was so entertained by everyone, she barely took naps while we were out there because she didnt want to miss a thing.

On Sat my cousin Mary and her husband, Tim, and their daughter, Josie, who is 3, joined us for some fun in the sun! Josie enjoyed riding rides and doing the arts and crafts, it was fun to watch her and picture in a couple of years Katelyn enjoying all of this.

Daddy and Katelyn watching Josie ride rides!

Family photo!

Grandpa enjoying the band and his turkey leg!

Aren't I so darn cute in my hat!!!

Me and ama waiting for the boys to come back from touring the ships!

Cousin Josie and Me, "one day i will be big like her!"

These pictures Katelyn was up enjoying the music and watching people and the next thing dad knew her head collasped down and she was out! Too much fun for Katelyn and she finally gave in to taking a nap! Precious!
