Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day is always a wonderful time to remember and honor our dads, uncles, brothers and husbands for such a wonderful and important role they hold in our lives. We especially remember David's dad and how much he is greatly missed especially on Father's Day, we love you Grady and you must be having a blast watching your granddaughter grow up! She has your goofy grin!

This year we started Father's Day in Rocky Mount and David opened his presents with his girls and had a cookie cake for breakfast! We then headed over to Wilson to do lunch with my dad's side of the family. Dad did a great job cooking chickens and we gave presents to Granddad and Dad. Connor and Katelyn had a blast running around, sliding down the slide and helping everyone open presents. After this we headed down for a week long fun at the beach! ( so more blogs to come)

Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park is sponsered by the church David and I have been attending in Harrisburg. During the summer they put family fun movies on a big screen out in the park and hand out free popcorn and drinks. Just about the whole town turns out for free movies in the park! It is an awesome way to show the love of Christ to the community.
For 2 hours before though they have music playing and games going. We took katelyn out and she had so much fun just watching everyone and swinging on the swings. I think the most fun though was her just running around on the soccer fields. Of course we couldnt make it til the movie started because it was Katelyn's bedtime, but maybe by August when the next movie is Katelyn can last a little while longer!

Marble Museum

Over the next week Katelyn and I will be bouncing from city to city and visiting people and also having some family time down at the beach. Our adventure began though this past Thursday as we headed East and met up with some of my close college friends from nursing school and their kids. We went to the Marble Museum in Raleigh and to say the kids had fun is selling it short. They had a blast! There are so many different rooms for them to play in and learn about sea life, to science, to a pirate ship, to a money room with lots of balls to help them learn to count. These kids are too young for that, but they sure had fun throwing them!

We started our day with lunch, but there were so many kids, there weren't any highchairs left, so the kids had to eat out of their strollers but they didn't seem to care. Here are 3 out of the 4 lined up for lunch! ( Katelyn, Wade, Gray)

Once inside their was a play area with gardening, Katelyn pulled out a sweet potato, her favorite!

Wade and Katelyn sitting on the boat!

Water! Need i saw more!

WOW! She stood in awe of the aquarium.

As you can tell from the pics we had a blast! Cant wait to get everyone together again and Natalie hopefully you can join us next time!

Playing on the Playset!

The playset is finished. David did a great job putting it all together! Katelyn has had so much fun playing on it. Today thank goodness, we had a little relief from the heat this AM, so we played as much as we could. We even had her snack in her fort!
Snack Time! Yum!

Sharing with Mommy! My sweet girl!

"Hum, I think i want to try the slide."

A little nervous

Whew! Glad that is over!

I think i like going up better!

The whole swingset! Its a beauty! Thanks to those who helped get it!

Swinging away, the life of a baby!

Oh how fast things change!

This is just a little update on what Katelyn is doing ( the good and the bad) ha! First off she has her new playset all up and swinging and sliding aways and she loves it! Thanks daddy for all your hardwork! I will post a new blog post next with pictures.

She has now learned to climb onto the couch all by herself and she is trying to climb other things as well, it wont be long til i find her up on the roof ( haha, this is in reference to Wes, my brother in law, he climbed on the roof when he was 2 i think when his poor grandmother was keeping him.)

She has discovered the toilets and can also lift the lid to try to play in the water, so all doors have to remain closed!

A big thing is that she has not taken a morning nap for the past 4 mornings, i am kinda surprised she has done this, but then again it is nice. I can get things done out and about in the morning or play with her new swingset, then the afternoons especially with it being so hot, she naps for almost 3 hours! I still put her in her crib at 9 to see if she will take a nap and for me to get a shower and a few things done. After about 45 min to an hour, she starts getting fussy, so I go get her and we start our day!

The bad side of not taking a morning nap is that she gets bored up there and she started chewing on the crib!!!!! I saw specs of what i thought was dirt on her face and i just thought i needed to change her crib sheet, so i did, then the next morning, she had it again on her face and i looked at the railings and sure enough TEETH MARKS! So we made a trip out to Babies R Us to get crib railing covers. And she still chews on those because they are soaking wet when i get her out, but at least its not on the rails.

That is the latest as of now, we are heading to the beach next week, so I am sure I will have plenty of pictures when we get back!!

Playset

Katelyn's big present for her birthday was her play set! David was going to wait for my dad to get up here to help him, but when i got called off from work on Sat, he decided to go ahead and attempt to start this weekend. It didn't take him long though to get into it and decide he wanted to finish it all in one weekend by himself! Most everything says it will take at least 8-12 hours with several people working on it. Of course this weekend too had to be the hottest weekend yet!!! I was able to help him here and there, but mostly I kept up with Katelyn so he could work on it.
Here are the boxes everything came in. Between the two i think
they weighed like 300lbs!

This is some of the wood all laid out.

The first completed piece, the ladder and climbing wall!

These 3 boards alone took us awhile to get together,
but we got it!

This was the completed part at the end of Day 1! Way to go David!

DAY 2

David didn't get started til the afternoon because we went to church and had lunch and actually it was even hotter on Sunday, so he had to take more breaks, but he was determined and his determination paid off!
The ladder and rock wall attached to the fort!

The slide attached and that had to be put together too!

The front has a picnic table, so cute!

The tarps attached on top, just in time before the rain came down!

Almost finished, but unfortunately 2 screws were missing that were very important to stabilize the whole thing, so we had to wait until today to go to Lowe's to get them, then we can put the swings and glider on, so Katelyn can actually swing! We did let Katelyn play in the complete fort part and she loved it already!

Again amazing job done by David, i think all together it took him less than 12 hours and that was all by himself!

CVS Deal!

This was my last week steal at CVS! I got all of the above which consists of 3 pampers diapers, 1 Charmin bathroom tissue, Gillette proglide razor with 2 cartridges, and 2 spray on Coppertone sunscreen! I got all of the above for $20.54, which 3 packs of diapers would be more than that! This is all thanks to manufactures coupons, CVS coupons and Extra Bucks from CVS. My total if i would have bought all individually would have been around $70!

I am a huge fan of Extra Bucks! Look each week at the CVS flyer and certain items give you money back once you purchase and usually there are coupons that match of with them too!
