Cool Chic

We have trying for awhile to get Katelyn to wear her sunglasses, kinda like i had been trying forever for her to wear a bow, and simply one day she decideds ok i will wear it! With the bow, it took her seeing another little girl her age wearing one to realize its ok for her to wear one and she has been wearing one ever since. Now she saw Gigi wearing sunglasses and she decided she wanted to wear hers too! Whatever works! I have a feeling i will be learning this lesson alot with my little girl. She is going to do things when she wants and only when she wants, not when i want. And now everytime we get in the car she wants to put on her glasses. Lyn took a great picture of her on the camera phone, i wish i could upload it of her sitting in her carseat with paci in mouth, bow in hair and sunglasses on, it is a great picture!!

Cool chic!

Two cool chics!

Come on Gigi, lets go cruising!

"Can i be like the big girls and get my sunglasses on my top of my head to keep the hair out of my eyes?"

"Yep, sure can!" Man, she sure is growing up way too fast!

NC Aquarium

David and I had been wanting to take Katelyn to the aquarium since the last time we were down at the beach, but I am so glad we waited til now because she enjoyed it so much at the age she is now! We walked right in and she went running to the tanks to see all the fish and i think she could have stayed all day at the first one, never even caring there was more!

Look Ahma!

Grandpa, this is so cool!

Just in amazement!

Not too sure about this frog.

Mommy, another fish!

They have a room that has open tanks where the kids can do " hands on" activities. Katelyn and daddy both touched the sting rays, but katelyn wasnt too sure about a horseshoe crab, so she passed on that one.

My little hermit crab!

Then we ventured into the room with the really big aquarium and she was simply in amazement and pointing at every fish that went by and there were alot!! The a scuba diver got into the tank and that really through her, she wouldnt go near the tank until Ahma took her up to the guy on the glass.

Ahma and Katelyn watching the diver.

Family photo!

Shark!

Katelyn touching a shark! ( not a real one)

Let's do this again!

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day Weekend, we did the 5 hour trek to the beach on Friday night. Katelyn slept part of the way, she doesnt sleep as well in the carseat like she used to, which makes it hard to make these long trips, but she is still a trooper! Hurricane Earl thank goodness left the NC coast on friday afternoon and left us with a beautiful weekend!

David's mom came down as well, so Katelyn was spoiled by all 3 grandparents for the weekend. I think at first she didnt know who to go to or what was going on, but she soon caught on to the fact she could have fun with all 3! Thanks to all the grandparents for watching her, playing with her, and trying to get her to sleep!

We spent most of each day out on the beach because it was a little cooler and just plain beautiful. Katelyn is not afraid at all of the ocean and will run right in and loves to jump the waves. She enjoyed daddy digging her holes and playing in her own little pools too. SHe had the most fun trying to throw sand back into the holes though. She also wants to be a big girl and sit in the beach chairs like everyone else did. Her new found thing is birds and airplanes. THe minute she hears either one, she points to the sky and looks up and at the beach she was doing it alot!

We grilled out each night and Sunday and Monday were even more beautiful days out on the beach! We took Katelyn to the acquarium on Monday morning, i put that into another post, then she stayed down at the beach with all 3 grandparents til tues and i am actually meeting mom to get her tomorrow, so David and i could work a few days. It was a great weekend to end the summer, now come on fall weather!
