Daddy/Daughter/Granddaughter Night!!

One again, Chick fil a had Daddy/Daughter night this year. It is always so neat how they put it together and the girls love going. Thankfully, Ahmpa was kind enough to step in for daddy, who got called away for business meetings, and took the girls, but to have some help because they can be a handful and for potty runs, I decided to tag along. It was all decorated in red and black like ladybugs and the waitresses wore red wings with black polka dots, it was way cute!! The girls did pretty good and loved having Ahmpa there with them. We also got to see our cousins, Hunter and Brileigh on their date!!

An added bonus was a guy coming around and doing our charactures, so he put all four of us in it. Thanks Ahmpa for taking your girls out to dinner! It was fun!! Missed you daddy!

Happy Valentine's 2014

Well Valentine's Day came after being snowed in for 3 days, plus both girls being sick, so it was pretty low key, but still nice. Kate tried to be a good sport with a 102 temp all day, but thankfully she didn't miss her party at school because of the snow, they will have it next week. Thanks to my hubby for my sweet card and cooking dinner!

Our 2014 Valentine card

Presents from Ahma and Ahmpa through Daddy so girls would have some things to play with. Katelyn got Mouse trap! She has been trying to catch a real mouse outside for some reason ( no there really isn't a mouse outside thank goodness, she just wants one for some reason) Haley got a coloring book and a Winnie the pooh bulb kit to plant her " bootiful flowers" as she says.

Girls in their Valentine pjs! Katelyn did great with a smile and her 102 temp!

Girls gifts from mommy and daddy

Daddy went and got heart biscuits for Valentine's day! Thanks daddy!

Finally by Sunday, fever free, the girls were able to open presents and see Gigi! Coloring books and markers and candy!!

Snow Round 3 and 4!!

I love snow, but only once a year, 4 times in a year is way too much, especially when it all comes in 3 weeks time!!! Thankfully for us round 3 and 4 were not as bad as it could have been, we got around 3 inches in round 3 then rain, then a tracing in round 4. The girls were not feeling the best or either they were just as tired of the snow as I was because surprisingly, they never asked to go out in it and I was just as happy!!

Here are our pics from this round of snow!

Nothing but drugs, Kleenex, and wipes!! haha!

Kate took this pic of Haley, sweet girl!

Our place on the couch and everyone wanting to sit in mommy's lap.

Pull Ups Party

I actually won something, I was shocked!!! I have been signing up to host these " house parties" of all different types of things. From food, to kids stuff, to cosmetics, but I never win anything, then one day I got the email! You have won the Pull ups house party! I yelled out loud to David, I actually won! hahaha! So I had to invite people to come, fill out surveys, and host a party. The snow and sickness tried to be a damper on this, but thankfully I was able to have it before we all got sick and several people were able to come. They mailed me a neat basket, lots of party supplies, awesome coupon booklets for everyone, and lots of free pull ups!! It was so much fun, plus it was great to just let the kids play, because we have all been shut ins!

Summer and Surgery

Poor Summer is 9 1/2 years old and she will always be our "first" baby. I got her as a present to myself after graduating nursing school. She was 6 weeks old and could fit in my hand!! Well, David and I have always talked about our "inexpensive" dog, but we love her and she has been an awesome friend and pet.

So of course, 2 weeks ago, she was just running around in the yard chasing a ball and came up extremely lame. Poor thing was hobbling around like a tripod and I knew she tore her ACL. That night of course it snowed 3 inches and she kept me up most the night. Poor thing could not figure out how to lay down without it hurting, so David took her the next day to the vet to be sure and sure enough it was a torn ACL. She was scheduled for surgery up in Cary in a week. Of course it snowed 5 inches the night of surgery and she had to stay the night and we picked her up the next day. The surgery was very successful, but now she has to be contained in a small room for 2 weeks, only going out to the bathroom and back inside, then another 6 weeks of only walking her on a leash and still no running until 8 weeks later! Trying to keep her calm and not active has been so hard! Thanks so much to my parents for keeping her and to their dog, Jarrett, for being a good sport and coming to live with us for these 2 weeks!

( warning some pics might make you a little squimish!)

Dad and David went to get her after the surgery! She was all excited to see them!

Poor girl with her leg wrapped from where her IV was.

Shaved her whole leg!

Happy to see my girl!

How we have to walk her with a harness and leash

Out walking in the snow!

It is going to be a long 6 six more weeks, but hopefully soon she will be back to her active self!! We love our summer girl!

Snow Week # 2

I can't believe exactly a week after we had about 3 inches of snow, we turn around and get 5 inches and school is out again all week!! It is just cold!! It was getting down to single digits at night, like one night was 5 and last night was as low as 1 degree! This snow was so fluffy this time which was just fun to run through and go sledding a little. It stuck around from tues til sunday it was finally all gone!

Cool chics
